Ken welcomes back writer, former pastor, and educator, Rev. Nathaniel Manderson. As the year begins, Ken invites former guests who share a common perspective on politics and religion. Ken and Nate discuss his recent article, published last fall on Salon.com. Entitled, "Theological pandemic: Why evangelicals embraced Jan. 6 and the Big Lie," they explore the question: why did the J6 committee fail to expose the religious leaders and religious ideas that energized and prompted the assault on the Capitol? How is it that many "evangelicals" resonate with the dark, destructive agenda (stolen election, anti-immigrant, anti-feminist, anti-government) promoted by the former president? We can not ignore the obvious religious aspect of J6. Nate is an unapologetic, committed Christian who is currently teaching in the Chelsea Public School District in Boston's inner city.
